VIPPSTAR Partners at CVRS 2025 Scientific Biennial in Zagreb

21/07/2025

From 7 to 9 July 2025, VIPPSTAR partners participated in the CVRS 2025 Scientific Biennial Meeting in Zagreb, an international gathering of researchers and clinicians working in the field of visual impairment and rehabilitation sciences.

During the conference, Prof. Els Ortibus (KU Leuven), Prof. John Ravenscroft (University of Edinburgh), and Dr. Serena Micheletti (University of Brescia) presented studies connected to key components of the VIPPSTAR framework. Their contributions addressed early intervention strategies in childhood visual impairment, the development of harmonised clinical registries, and the refinement of assessment tools supporting personalised care pathways.

The presentations positioned VIPPSTAR within ongoing international discussions on how to integrate clinical research, structured data collection and innovative intervention models in paediatric vision care. The exchange with colleagues from across Europe provided valuable feedback and reinforced the relevance of developing coordinated, evidence-based approaches for children and adolescents with visual impairment.

Participation in CVRS 2025 marked an important moment for the consortium, strengthening scientific dialogue and visibility as the project moves forward into its implementation phase.
