On 2 October 2025, the VIPPSTAR consortium took part in a dedicated webinar hosted by ENVITER, bringing together organisations, professionals, researchers, and other stakeholders working in the field of visual impairment.

The webinar provided an opportunity to present the project's objectives, ongoing activities, and the multidisciplinary approach at the heart of VIPPSTAR. Consortium partners discussed the challenges faced by children and adolescents with visual impairment and the importance of developing personalised solutions that support health, well-being, and autonomy from an early age.

Particular attention was given to VIPPSTAR's three intervention pathways, which are designed to respond to the needs of different age groups. These include an AI-supported tele-rehabilitation programme for young children, an accessible serious game aimed at supporting visual and cognitive development, and an avatar-based digital assistant focused on physical activity, nutrition, and body image awareness.

The session also explored several of the project's key initiatives. Among them was VIPPSTAR-NET, which aims to lay the foundations for a future European network of registries on visual impairment, helping address current data gaps and supporting future research and policy development. Participants also learned more about the project's work on physical activity, nutrition, wearable technologies, and digital tools designed to promote participation, independence, and healthy lifestyles.

Another important topic discussed during the webinar was the Regulatory Sandbox for Trustworthy AI. As one of the project's cross-cutting activities, it will support the responsible development and evaluation of AI-based solutions, while fostering dialogue between researchers, stakeholders, and regulators throughout the process.

The webinar also created space to discuss future collaboration with the ENVITER community. Discussions focused on stakeholder engagement, dissemination activities, and opportunities to contribute to the visibility and future uptake of the project's outputs across Europe.

The event was a valuable opportunity to share VIPPSTAR's ongoing work, exchange perspectives with members of the wider visual impairment community, and strengthen connections that will support the project throughout its implementation.
